Happy New Year everyone, hope you’re all having a good start to 2016.  The Central England Group only held one event last year, our very festive Xmas party. It was on Sunday 29th November in Balsall Common, near Coventry and everybody had a great time.

We had about 40 people attend, including our brilliant face painter, Kathryn and the main man himself, Father Christmas.

There was refreshments for all, a disco and games for the children and lots of quality chat time for the adults.  Everyone had such a good time I have already booked the same venue for this year so you can all put the date in your diary.

It is Sunday 4th December 2016  2 pm – 4.30 pm and everyone is welcome including uncles, aunts, grandparents, friends, more the merrier.  It is a very informal event.

Additional Event for 2016

Due to popular demand we have decided to arrange another get together this year.  We are going to hold a:

Beetle Drive

“Come and join us for a fun afternoon and experience the excitement of a Beetle Drive.  If you can roll dice and draw a simple stick figure you are in for a treat.  Children and adults of all ages can take part.  Or if you just want to be a spectator that’s fine too.  Additional games for the children will also be available.  Play with friends old and new.  We will be serving jacket potatoes with a choice of delicious fillings, soft drinks and cakes.”

We will hold a small raffle so donations welcome and money raised will be put back into the TSSS.

There is no charge for the Xmas party but we will be asking for a small fee for the Beetle Drive just to cover the cost of the food.  £4 for adults and £2.00 for children.

Date:  Sunday 15th May 2016 2 pm – 4.30 pm

The venue for both events is:

St Peters Church Hall, Holly Lane, Balsall Common, West Midlands CV7 7EA.

The year has flown by and unfortunately, we have been unable to hold any event s this year.  I have been so busy with my girls and other family commitments so it has not made it possible for me to give time to support the Central England Friendship in 2015.

However, I am organising the Christmas Party, it wouldn’t be right not to get together at Christmas and catch up with old and new friends.  We had such a great time last year and all the children enjoyed having their face painted.

The details are:

Sunday 29th November 2015 2 pm – 5 pm at St Peters Church Hall, Holly Lane, Balsall Common, West Midlands CV7 7EA.  The hall is booked for 3 hours so you can drop in any time during 2 pm and 5 pm.

It’s a great opportunity for  people affected by TS in one way or another , ladies, girls, mums, dads, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, granddads, grandmas and even friends to come together and socialise in a relaxed atmosphere over a few sandwiches and mince pies followed by our special guest, Father Christmas.

There will be a small disco playing festive music for the children and a few games for them to take part in.  While they are having fun the grownups can relax and have a chat over a cup of tea.

If you have any further questions or would like to join us then please contact me so we can organise the catering and let Santa know how many children he will be visiting, my details are:

Take care and see you soon. X

Thank you to everyone that came to the Central England Turner Syndrome Christmas party, we all had a fantastic time.

I would like to thank Spongeblob face painting who gave the girls and boys some brilliant faces.

Thanks also to Ann Atkins for her help, couldn't have done it without her.

Merry Xmas everyone, see you next year.

We have just had one get together this year due to everyone having such busy lives.

We had a ‘Purple Picnic’ on TS Awareness Day, Saturday June 21st 2014 and we had such lovely time, the weather was kind to us too. Everyone enjoyed catching up and swapping stories.

The highlight of our day was to welcome a new member to our group. She was very nervous about attending the group for the first time but by the end of the afternoon she was so pleased she had come and made so many new friends.

Christmas is now fast approaching and it’s now time for us to start thinking about our Christmas Party. We had a great time last Christmas and all the children enjoyed having their face painted.

A date has been booked for this year’s party, so mark it in your diary’s now for Sunday 30th November 2014 2 pm – 5 pm at St Peters Church Hall, Holly Lane, Balsall Common, West Midlands CV7 7EA. The hall is booked for 3 hours so you can drop in any time during 2 pm and 5 pm.

Central England Friendship Group Christmas Party

The Central England Christmas party was a great success with Kathryn doing the face painting and a visit from Father Christmas.

Thank you to everyone that came and supported the group, it was lovely to see some new faces, hope you all enjoyed it, Merry Christmas everyone and see you all next year xx

This update has been well overdue and apologies for not keeping everyone in Central England up to date.  I’ve been very busy over the summer with the school holidays and taking my daughter, Shona, to the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Bath where she competed in the Artistic Gymnastics.

We all had a great time and I was so proud of Shona when she came away from the games with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal and I would like to thank everyone for all their good wishes.

Anyway, enough of me, don’t like to say but Christmas is fast approaching and it’s now time for us to start thinking about our Christmas Party.  A date has been booked so mark it in your diary’s now for Sunday 1st December 2013 2 pm – 5 pm at St Peters Church Hall, Holly Lane, Balsall Common, West Midlands CV7 7EA.  The hall is booked for 3 hours but you can drop in any time during 2 pm and 5 pm.
