Wow what a meeting we had! On awareness day (June 21st in case anyone missed it) the Manchester and Merseyside friendship group met in Dunham Massey national trust park for a picnic. We were all worried about the weather as it hadn’t stopped raining but the sun shone for us!

Everyone brought their own picnic. The children had, balls, lots of bubbles and a small play area. Jo, one of the mums, brought a sheet and everyone had a go at decorating it so we now have our own flag, picnic mat, photo backdrop or anything you want.

The mums and dads all had a good time catching up and chatting, as did the girls, swapping numbers and making new friends.

There was around 40 of us, old and new, our group is getting bigger every time!

Thanks to all that came we really enjoyed it.

We will keep u updated on the next meeting when we arrange it.

See you soon

Ellie and Emma

Well what a meeting!!!

We were all so busy before Christmas so we decided to postpone our Christmas meet up. As always it was great to meet up with old friends and new. It’s great to meet new families and allow them to talk though their worries and experiences at the early stages of diagnosis.

We changed our meeting a little to make sure we all got to know each other a little better. After we had all arrived and had a cuppa and biscuit, we spilt into three groups. We each had a piece of string which we had to wind around our finger whilst introducing ourselves. If you had a long piece, you had to talk for a while if it was short it was an easy introduction. We then went around the circle and asked each other any questions we had. Hopefully this was beneficial as there were lots of different views from, parents, grandparents, sisters and women with TS. It was lovey seeing the younger members of the group playing so nicely while we did this, they were so well behaved all afternoon. Again it was very relaxed and no one was forced to talk.

We love developing our group so if you have any ideas on what you would like to see or even things you don’t want to do please get in touch. Our next meet will probably be around awareness day 21st June. We hope to see you all, and more, there. Until then don hesitate to get in touch to let us know how your all getting on, we love to hear from you.

Bye for now
