March 2026 meet-up: Eight of us met up and went to Pizza Express Bow Street, Covent Garden, where a particularly yummy peach and parma pizza was on the menu (you absolutely CAN have pineapple on pizza and apparently also peach!).
We then went to the London Transport Museum looking at the Windrush generation display and thank you so much to Claire for sharing her family's experiences, making it even more poignant.
We saw an old London Underground carriage of 1930s which wasn't particularly out of time with the Bakerloo Line train Suse and Lisa were on earlier that day. We noticed how quick the buses changed, particularly between 1908 and the 1930s - it was incredible how once something appears for the first time how fast it gets improved! We also looked on the old routemaster 'ding ding any more fares please' bus which was a nice trip down Nostalgia Lane!
We looked in the women's only carriage of a late 19th Century train where a very sweet little boy of about 5-6 was pretending he was a ticket inspector and collected tickets!
We then went for a cuppa and even the cushions on the cafe sofa were in the style of the old seat on the buses! A few of us did some shopping in the tourist shop. All in all we had a really great day and it was wonderful to see everyone xx

Thank you to all who came to our September meet-up, it was so lovely to see you.
We have a nice chat over lunch in the cafe and we went to Science City 1500s to 1800s which was great as it showed how early some ideas were. We went to Medicine and again to see how much changed in the 20th century which was really interesting.
Finally we went to the Future of Food which was a bit depressing at how much we are doing to the planet, but good to see how technology is trying to solve a lot of issues.
All in all great to see and lovely to catch up. Thank you all for being truly amazing friends xx.
