Good morning, bore da, to all women with TS in North Wales and their families. This is Alix's mum.
I am a county councillor for Flintshire CC and have recently been contacted by some concerned residents, who think their PIP might be affected by the changes to welfare. The Health Minister for Wales has in fact spoken against these changes.
Some, not all, if you, may be in receipt of PIP, whether lifetime or temporary award.
I wrote to all our Senedd members for reassurance about this, and the North Wales MS member, Carolyn Thomas, who has an interest in disability physical and mental, has offered to meet with me and discuss this, and take it back to the Senedd.
Carolyn would also like to meet any of our members who would like to talk to her about PIP, or just anything at all about being a woman with TS.
No date set for this, but I was thinking of an informal coffee at somewhere like Prestatyn or Llandudno.
If you would like to meet Carolyn, please let me know, inbox me. It's a chance to meet up in any case!
Best wishes! Gina, mother of Alix.
The North Wales friendship group met in Llandudno in July.
Thanks to those who came to the meet-up, a smaller group this time but we made the most of it with lunch in the Orma Lounge then a short walk up to Happy Valley for ice cream.
